Construction
Now that you are familiar with the rhythm and the syllables, your next task is to combine them to construct the actual lyrics. Even though most of the sounds you learned in the Basics section already exist in English, construction will still feel awkward to you since the combinations will be completely different from those of English.
The purpose of construction is to build the muslce memory you need to articulate real Portuguese sounds in their real combinations. Note that the syllables are grouped together rhythmically, so the actual words are actually combined and split. If you are already familiar with Portuguese words, you will need to fight the urge to lock in on the words you recognize, as this will negatively effect your pronunciation. ALWAYS FOCUS ON THE SYLLABLES, AS THESE ARE THE REAL BUILDING BLOCKS OF SPEECH.
As with any other motor skill, the process will be challenging, but if you are persistent and trust in your brain's ability to adapt, I GUARANTEE you will be able to get it with practice.

- For each line, start by reviewing and mimicking the component syllables.
- Once you have reviewed the syllables, you can move onto the next audio file. In this file, I clap a steady beat and chant the syllables to the original rhyhtm of the song.
- After each chant, I leave space for you to repeat after me. Listen close to what I say and mimic my pronunciation exactly.
- Do not worry about getting it 100% correct. The most important thing is you get the rhythm right and not drop the beat. If you mess up a syllable, listen closely to that syllable when it's my turn to chant, and focus on getting that syllable right the next time.

In the next section, you will combine these rhythmic groupings to form the complete lyric and then committ everything to memory. Once again, your comfort with Construction dictates the ease with which you get through Memorization, so make sure you are comfortable with everything on this page before moving on.
