The Oral Vowels

These vowel letters will ALWAYS represent these vowel sounds

Remember that this list does not comprise all the sounds of Portuguese. Just the sounds that do not exist in English. For the sounds that DO exist in English, I use the English scripts.

This way, you can cut the pronunciation confusion without having to memorize a lot of special symbols. Going through this list should have been a good review for you. As you go through the song lessons, you will rely little on these scripts. 

Soon, you will submit a recording to test how well you've practiced here. Once you are comfortable with this information, you'll submit a recording and get feedback on these sounds. That way, you know which ones you need to pay attention to as you progress through the song lessons.
